Hourly chauffeur booking: as-directed trips on your site

August 8, 2026 · 8 min read

As-directed work is how black car companies make their afternoon. The website should ask for hours, not invent a destination.

Hourly chauffeur booking is a different trip type

Point-to-point software that requires two addresses will torture as-directed guests. Hourly chauffeur booking should collect pickup, start time, hours, vehicle class, and notes (“stay with the principal”). Dropoff can equal pickup or wait.

Orek’s intake treats hourly as pickup-only when there is no dropoff, still geocodes the start, and applies hourly rate × hours with a minimum.

Minimums and overtime belong in the quote

If the car is three hours minimum, the widget must not show a one-hour fantasy price. Overtime after a grace window belongs in terms and, when you can, as a known extra. Guests who see the minimum online argue less at the curb.

City work still needs a map

Even hourly jobs start on a real street. Geocode the pickup so dispatch is not decoding “the Starbucks downtown.” Catalog places are a bonus, not a substitute for an address.

One widget, three service types

Airport, hourly, and point-to-point can share the same chauffeur booking widget. The first question is the service. Everything else follows.

Sign up and quote your actual minimum hours. If the number matches the card in your SUV visor, you are ready.

Questions operators ask

Can hourly chauffeur booking include extra stops?
Yes. Stops are usually included in as-directed time. If you charge per stop, add an extra — do not hide it.
What if they go over hours?
Print overtime in terms. Dispatch bills after the run. The widget cannot predict traffic; it can set expectations.
Do I need a dropoff for insurance?
Your run sheet can list “as directed.” The booking software should not invent a pin to satisfy a form.
